Pastor Matthew and wife Jude with Jeff and Lou Ann July 2012

Lou Ann and Jeff are boarding their flight to Zambia today. It will begin in Knoxville, TN, overnight in NY and tomorrow continue to Johannesburg arriving Friday morning in Livingstone.

Thank you for your prayers. Special thanks to you who have contributed to this trip. Praise the Lord for His gracious work in each of us through Jesus Christ’s Spirit and Word.

The mission will begin with an evangelistic outreach in Livingstone, partnered with local churches. Lou Ann, Heather and Karsen will minister to orphans in Livingstone and children in a village outside of Mazabuka. Jeff and Pastor Steve will teach at a pastor’s conference in Mazabuka.

Jeff and Johan will also finalize business concerning property in Mazabuka for the Dignity Project. Big thank you for those who partnered with us for this. May the Lord raise up many monthly partners for the Ministry in Zambia.

Be Blessed!

  1. i WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THIS TIME OUT TO INTRODUCE MY SELF.I AM EVG;PAT ALSHABAZZ,I AM TRULY GLAD TO HEAR AND SEE THE GOOD WORKS THAT IS COMING FROM YOU ALL. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO CONNECT WITH YOU AND YOUR MINISTRY

    • Dear Sister Patricia,
I am sorry we have not been able to connect since we spoke on the phone last month when I was traveling. I tried to call you the other day but did not get an answer.
When convenient please call me again and I pray we will have time to talk and connect in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is an incredible time to be working along side our Lord Jesus Christ obeying His mandate to “make disciples.”
Our ministry focuses on training pastors in the Word of God who in turn train others, especially the church who the Holy Spirit has made them overseers of.
We also partner with these pastors and churches to help them in ministering to widows and orphans through the Dignity Project. This ministry focuses on widows becoming the parents of orphans and then helps them to set up a home and means to support these children in a loving Christian environment. We do not set up orphanages because this does not create a “home” atmosphere and the ability to focus on the individual child. The local church is key to this ministry as it is the local church who is mandated to take care of their own and reach out into their communities.
I hope this gives you some more information and also reveals our heart in this ministry to the indigenous church in Africa. We believe that this vision also applies to the church in America or any country. The indigenous Christian makes the best missionary because they know the culture and language and they live in the place of ministry on the same level as those they are trying to reach.

I hope to hear from you again,
      Be Blessed in Jesus Name!

      Jeff Hawkins
